Mentor

A Mentor (known also as a Buddy) is a local student who, on a voluntary basis, helps an exchange student throughout his/her stay in the new country.
 
The Mentor is a student from the faculty you are attending and is about your age. In general he/she will help you with practical matters.
 
What should you expect from your Mentor:

• Mentor should contact you before your arrival in Warsaw (if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask him/her)
• Mentor will pick you up from the airport/railway station when you arrive
• he/she helps you with accommodation and other formalities which you have to fix after coming to Warsaw, such as getting registered with the authorities
• getting used to new reality can be sometimes difficult, Mentor is there to help make it easier, he/she will advice on where to shop and introduce you to university premises, parties, meetings etc.
